Munhyeon-dong Korean buffet at KRW 8,000, with curry, jjajang, and a ramen machine
A Korean buffet on the second floor at 2, Munhyeon-ro 66beon-gil in Nam-gu, in front of the Hyundai petrol station in the old part of Munhyeon-dong. It is KRW 8,000 by card and KRW 7,500 in cash, with nurungji sotbap adding KRW 500. Card payment goes through a kiosk. The sotbap is started to order, though it may be unavailable during the staff meal break.
The spread changes daily and runs wide. Mains such as soy-braised pork bulgogi, grilled flounder, boneless fried chicken, and guobaorou sit alongside pumpkin stir-fry, soy-braised lotus root, soy-braised shishito with pork, and doenjang-dressed cucumber peppers. Barley rice with thick soybean paste and a tray of wrap vegetables round it out. The kimchi is made in house.
Few places offer both curry and jjajang; this one does. There is spicy fish-cake gimbap and inari sushi, toast with fried eggs you cook yourself, and a Han River style ramen machine for instant noodles and jjajang ramen, though the ramen runs out early. Dessert is house-brewed sikhye plus shaved ice and red bean jelly.
Open 10:30 to 16:00 with last orders at 15:30 and no dinner service. There is no dedicated car park; about five cars fit on the ground floor, and at lunch most people end up parking in the surrounding alleys.
