Old-school Chinese restaurant near Busan National Univ. of Education Station, known for tangsuyuk and gan-jjajang
An old Chinese restaurant on Geojecheon-ro between Yeonsan-dong and Geoje-dong, about five minutes on foot from Busan National Univ. of Education Station Exit 11. It sits across from Top Mart Yeonje, and the dedicated parking lot behind the building makes it easier for a driving lunch. The first floor, second-floor banquet seating, rooms, and solo seats make it useful for solo meals, family meals, company dinners, and larger gatherings.
The classic jjajangmyeon keeps the old-school Chinese-room flavor. Gan-jjajang comes with a fried egg, plenty of onion and pork, and a slightly sweet, savory sauce. The sauce can feel strong in salt, while the thinner noodles mix well. Add chili powder or a little jjamppong broth if you like a sharper finish.
Jjamppong is seafood-heavy, but the broth leans weighty and meaty rather than light. The noodles hold their texture, which helps both jjajang and jjamppong. Japchae rice gives the Busan-style mix of glass noodles with jjajang sauce, and mapo tofu rice is fast and filling. The Sichuan jjamppong rice may feel milder and more vegetable-sweet than the name suggests.
Tangsuyuk is the signature. The thick red sauce comes poured over the pork, and the coating lands crisp without becoming hard, which gives it the old Chinese-restaurant feel. The mini size works well beside noodles, while larger sizes suit drinks and groups. Food comes quickly, and the early opening makes it useful for breakfast-lunch timing, office meals near Gyodae and Yeonsan, or food before and after Sajik sports days.
