Taehwa Yukgaejang

태화육개장

Since 1962 Seomyeon local classic serving a clear, Gyeongsang-do style beef soup

About

A third-generation Seomyeon soup house near Younggwang Bookstore, opened in 1962 and known as a Baengnyeon Gage store. It opens early, so it is one of the useful Korean breakfast options around Seomyeon.

The yukgaejang here is not the oily, deep-red, fern-heavy style. It is closer to a clear Gyeongsang-do beef soup with bean sprouts, thin noodles, and shredded beef from the cauldron.

Start with the clean broth, then add the house seasoning and chopped cheongyang chili if you want more heat. The house-made soy sauce, doenjang, and three kinds of kimchi give the bowl the old local flavor that makes it memorable.

What people order here: Yukgaejang KRW 10,000 · Small suyuk KRW 25,000 · Large suyuk KRW 35,000 · Small seasoned beef tripe KRW 25,000. The list moves with the season, so confirm what is on when you arrive.
