Dwaeji Gukbap: Busan’s Pork Soup

About

From Exit 5 of Geumnyeonsan Station, walk about 140 metres past the new wing of Good Gang-an Hospital to the shop beside McDonald’s. Soup meals receive 30 minutes of parking support at the Gwang-eun Building basement lot. Ask the restaurant about the allowance for pork platters. Naver reservations and takeaway are available.

The clear bone broth is mild and clean, with soft pork. Start plain before adding chives or salted shrimp. Moist boiled pork and smoky clay-jar barbecue offer two ways to try the meat separately from the soup.

Choose a soup bowl, boiled-pork set or clay-jar barbecue set, and add a small sausage plate if sharing. The barbecue comes with scallions, garlic and sauce. Order on the table tablet and take extra side dishes from the self-service counter.

The first floor has counter seats for solo diners and tables; upstairs has larger seating and private rooms. The layout works for a solo Gwangalli lunch, parents or a group. High chairs and a children’s soup provide options for younger diners.
