Gaegeum Market local sashimi restaurant with generous assorted sashimi and boneless spicy fish soup
A local wholesale-style sashimi restaurant at the entrance side of Gaegeum Alley Market. There is no dedicated parking, so driving requires a separate market-area parking plan. The shop works for dine-in, takeout, delivery, and reservations, and the expanded space feels easier for family tables than the old cramped setup.
The core order is the Saengsaeng assorted sashimi small plate. The two-person size sits around KRW 50,000, with fish such as flatfish, gray mullet, sea bream, young yellowtail, or whatever is good that day. The slices are cut thick enough to keep a chewy sashimi texture rather than disappearing immediately.
The side dishes are part of the appeal. Grilled flatfish, sweet-salty potatoes with condensed milk, ceviche-style fish, scallops, bean-sprout soup, seasoned cabbage salad, and sushi rice can all appear around the table. Use the rice to make small sushi bites, or pair sashimi with white kimchi when you want a cleaner finish.
The boneless spicy fish soup, around KRW 11,000, is more filling than a typical bone-heavy maeuntang because it carries plenty of fish meat. Sancho and bang-a herbs can be requested to tune the aroma, and rice with seaweed turns it into a proper last course. It fits friends drinking in Gaegeum, a family sashimi night, or takeout when raw fish sounds better at home.
