Dalmaji-gil steak course built around comparing sirloin, tenderloin, and chateaubriand

About

A steak dining room on the first floor at 239-16 Dalmaji-gil, in the same building as Bibibidang. It was Sindolab 2.0 until recently; the interior stayed and only the name changed. The rebrand added an outdoor terrace that suits the Dalmaji-gil setting, in daylight and after dark.

Ordering is prix fixe. KRW 38,000 per person is the minimum, and you choose three, four, or five courses and assemble the menu yourself. Steak is ordered separately by cut and weight: sirloin, tenderloin, and chateaubriand, listed by the gram, with around 330g suiting two people. The kitchen is also known as an oyster bar, so raw oysters, fried oysters, and raclette oysters can be added or skipped.

The Hanwoo tartare and yuksashimi are seasoned assertively and work with the sauce. The signature is the nduja pasta, cream-based but light with enough heat to land after the steak. Clam chowder comes with real clam meat, and burrata salad and beef stew often open the course. Steak arrives with buttery mashed potato, Korean melon pickles, and grilled vegetables, and the plates stay heated to the end. Apple pie, ice cream, and tea close it out; the welcome drink comes with or without alcohol.

Lighting is low and the music is quiet, so conversation is easy. There are bar seats, tables, and a separate six-person room for groups. Reservations run through Catch Table or by phone, with a KRW 200,000 no-show deposit, so confirm the date before booking. Mention an anniversary in advance and they bring champagne and a candle.
