Jwacheon-dong chicken destination for smoky charcoal chicken bulgogi, rice, and an open-run queue
A Jwacheon-dong branch of the Korean Mexican Chicken chain that has become a destination for charcoal chicken bulgogi rather than standard delivery chicken. There is no dedicated parking, so use nearby paid lots. The walk from Jwacheon Station involves an underpass and an overpass, while Beomil Station plus the Dong-gu 1-1 village bus can be the easier approach.
The signature is charcoal chicken bulgogi. The chicken is grilled over charcoal, then served with cabbage, a spicy-sweet sauce, and a heap of chives. The regular spice level can already feel hotter than Shin Ramyun, so start there unless the table really wants heat. Add instant rice, because the sauce works best when mixed with rice near the end.
Fried chicken and the drumstick-wing order are the usual partners. Set 3 pairs the bulgogi with four drumsticks and four wings, while Set 4 is a better two-person order with a half portion of drumsticks and wings. The fried chicken leans old-school market style: crisp, clean-tasting, and not heavily brined. Potatoes may come out with the fry order, but do not treat them as a separate add-on.
Lines can form before the noon opening, and the shop may stop taking waits when ingredients sell out in the late afternoon. Waiting cards are used, and a two-hour table limit may apply when there is a queue. It fits friends, beer, a Busan Station or Beomil-dong old-downtown route, and a rice-heavy chicken dinner more than a quiet no-wait meal.
