Beomil-dong Jobang-style nakgopsae hot pot, finished by mixing the sauce and seaweed flakes into rice

About

A Jobang-style spicy octopus restaurant on Jobang-ro, within walking distance of Beomil Station, Busanjin Market, and the jewellery district. Drivers use Seokhwa Underground Parking, with one hour free on a restaurant bill of at least KRW 20,000. A broad hall, upstairs space, and several rooms suit meals with parents, family dinners, team lunches, and work gatherings.

The signature is nakgopsae at KRW 12,000 per person, simmering octopus, beef intestine, and shrimp in a shallow red broth. The octopus and plump intestine are generous, while the heat is milder than the colour suggests. Garlic, chilli flakes, seafood, and rendered beef fat build a savoury sauce rather than a harshly spicy one. Naksae and nakgop narrow the combination if one ingredient is unwanted.

Boil the covered pot over high heat for about five minutes, add the vegetables, and wait until the broth thickens. Rice is charged separately; spoon the mixture over it and add seaweed flakes from the self-service station. Put udon or glass noodles in early so they absorb the sauce and beef fat. The seafood scallion pancake at KRW 15,000 is the useful extra for a larger table.

Some weekend lunch visits report no queue, but weekday lunch can bring reserved and group tables, so allow time at the peak. The pot is not served fully cooked and must be finished at the table. A children’s menu is listed, though families still need care around the continuously heated pot.
