Dwaeji Gukbap: Busan’s Pork Soup

About

Walk roughly 400 metres from the north gate of Busan Citizens Park toward the Children’s Grand Park and look beside the Busan Bank Choeup branch. There is no dedicated car park; drivers need a paid lot nearby. Call the restaurant for group meals or takeaway.

The signature individual set brings boiled pork jowl, soup, rice, kimchi and vegetables together. The thin slices have a soft texture and the rich flavor of pork jowl, so there is no need to order a large shared pork platter.

The premium pork-jowl set costs KRW 15,000 and lean-pork soup KRW 10,000. Choose lean meat, sausage or offal for a soup bowl; choose the set if you prefer meat and broth separately. Thin noodles, chives and fresh kimchi round out the meal.

Help yourself to extra side dishes at the counter. Soft pork makes the set suitable for a meal with older relatives after a park walk. High chairs are available. Diners who prefer less fatty meat can choose lean-pork soup instead of pork jowl.
