Hwaguk Chinese Restaurant

화국반점

Nampo old Chinese restaurant from the film New World, best approached for atmosphere and gan-jjajang

About

A Nampo-dong old Chinese restaurant on Baeksan-gil, made famous as a filming location for New World. The old sign and interior still feel like part of the set.

The signature is old-style gan-jjajang, with roasted bean paste, oil, and plenty of onion. The tangsuyuk comes pre-sauced and leans sweet.

There is no dedicated parking, but a paid lot sits close by. It is best folded into a Nampo old-downtown walk instead of treated as a stand-alone destination.

Known for: Seafood gan-jjajang KRW 9,000 · Sichuan jjajang KRW 9,000 · Uni jjajang KRW 8,000 · Seafood jjamppong KRW 9,000 · Sweet-and-sour pork KRW 25,000. Expect small changes through the year, so check what is available that day.
