Dwaeji Gukbap: Busan’s Pork Soup

About

The restaurant is on the first floor of the Halmaetang hot-spring centre opposite Haeundae District Office. Use the centre’s basement or parking tower; meal-time support is up to 70 minutes. Solo-meal support has been excluded in reviews, so ask before relying on it.

The pork soup has mild, savory broth and soft meat, with rice served separately. The pork-jowl bowl adds a springier cut. Try the soup plain first, then add chives and chili paste to taste.

Assorted soup combines pork, sausage and offal; boiled-pork plates give another way to share. Thin noodles cost extra. The pork-belly and scallion griddle comes in regular and spicy versions; the spicy version can be very hot, so choose the regular one when sharing with children.

At busy weekend meals, register at the entrance Catch Table kiosk. Table tablets handle orders; Naver reservations, takeaway and delivery are available. Tables are well spaced and high chairs are provided, but seating and payment can be slow when the room is full.
