Oncheonjang jjamppong restaurant near Heosimcheong, with half-noodle half-rice bowls and japchae rice
A Chinese restaurant near Oncheonjang Station and Heosimcheong Spa. There is no dedicated parking, so the paid lot right beside the restaurant is the practical car route. The room has plenty of tables, but meal times can still fill the hall quickly.
The jjamppong is the reason to go. Instead of a heavy oily soup, the broth keeps a cleaner line while onion sweetness, large vegetables, shrimp, squid, and seafood savor build depth. The noodle thickness is easy to eat, and rice at the end feels natural.
The half-noodle, half-rice jjamppong is useful on a first visit. Octopus seafood jjamppong is another option, and japchae rice is a strong regulars choice. Jjajangmyeon and fried rice cover milder orders, and milmyeon gives the table a cooler option in hot weather.
Tangsuyuk is served with the sauce poured on by default, so ask before ordering if you want it separate. The coating is not thick, and the sweet onion-heavy sauce makes it easy to share with jjamppong. Because the kitchen is semi-open, hot days can feel warm inside.
