Sasang Station sushi spot with Tabling waits, ankimo shrimp, shima-aji, and aged sea bream
A sushi restaurant on Sasang-ro in the Sasang Station area, known for frequent waits. There is no dedicated parking, and Tabling waiting is used, so arriving on foot from the station is easier. After its move and expansion, the room feels cleaner and wider; weekend lunch waits around 10 to 15 minutes can still move quickly.
The fun is choosing sushi by the plate instead of only taking a fixed set. The special assorted 12-piece plate is around KRW 23,000 and brings salmon, shrimp, beef, seared shrimp, soy-marinated shrimp, and other easy pieces. The rice portion is not heavy, so the fish and toppings stay in front.
Half-plate orders are where the meal gets more interesting: monkfish-liver shrimp, flounder fin, shima-aji, and aged red sea bream are the names to watch. The ankimo is rich and nutty, while shrimp keeps a sweet, springy bite. Shima-aji and aged sea bream give it more freshness and texture than a standard conveyor-belt sushi stop.
A salad and shrimp-head miso soup start the table, and the soup has a clean savory pull. Cold udon, spicy Nagasaki seafood jjamppong, and assorted katsu make it easy to stretch the meal with friends. It fits dates, family meals, small gatherings, and a light beer or yuzu sake with sushi.
