Danggam-dong garlic-heavy dakdoritang and gopdoritang with octopus, beef intestine, and drinking-table energy
The main Danggamdaek branch sits on Danggamseo-ro near Dongpyeong Elementary School and the Danggam apartment blocks. There is no dedicated parking or parking support, so use nearby paid parking or a legal front-side spot if one is open. Transit is easy thanks to the bus stop near the door, and the room has a retro local-pub feel that works for family meals and friends drinking together.
The signature is soupy dakdoritang and gopdoritang with a mound of Changnyeong garlic. The broth gets deeper as it boils down, moving from light at first to spicy, garlicky, and savory. The chicken stays tender, and the gopdoritang adds Hanwoo intestine and large intestine for a richer, nuttier finish.
Gopdoritang runs from a half order around KRW 26,000 to a one-chicken order around KRW 37,000, with larger sizes for groups. Dakdoritang starts around KRW 29,000 for one chicken. Beef-brisket, crab, and kimchi-braise versions widen the table, but first-timers should look at gopdoritang with udon noodles.
A rolled omelet side makes the first drink easier, and dine-in gopdoritang is often remembered for the large octopus on top. Pure boneless chicken is available only from the one-chicken size, and packing leftovers can add an environmental fee. Takeout and delivery are available, with a choice of udon, wheat rice cake, or sujebi noted as a takeout service item.
