1972 Choryang Mukjip

1972년 초량묵집

A 1972 Choryang muk and buckwheat shop newly moved closer to Busan Station

About

A muk and buckwheat specialist about five minutes from Choryang Station Exit 2 and walkable from Busan Station. The long-running shop moved from the hillside near Seonhwa Girls’ Middle School to the office-lane area behind Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance, beside Amway. There is no known dedicated parking, so subway or Busan Station walking routes are easier. Ordering and payment are handled by kiosk.

The main dishes are buckwheat mukbap, acorn mukbap, and buckwheat soybean noodles. Mukbap can be ordered hot or iced. The hot buckwheat mukbap has anchovy-broth depth with seaweed flakes, scallion, and sesame, but it avoids the direct punch of seasoning powder. The flavor is quiet at first and becomes more comfortable as you eat.

The iced buckwheat soybean noodles are not a thick soybean-soup style; the broth is thinner but clean, nutty, and free of bean smell. It comes almost unseasoned, so add the mineral salt or unrefined sugar on the table to your taste. The buckwheat noodles break slightly in the mouth, giving more buckwheat character than chewy elasticity.

Side dishes are simple and tidy: shredded radish, young-radish kimchi, braised anchovy, and seasoned cucumber. A mukbap seasoning sauce sits on the table. The shop emphasizes no chemical additives or MSG, so it is a healthy, gentle meal rather than a high-impact bowl. The new room has more than a dozen four-person tables and an indoor restroom, making it useful for solo meals, Busan Station breakfasts, office lunches, and takeaway muk.
